The 33,525 hectares that make up the Pembi Pumbze Reserve, will be utilised as a high-intensity management area that includes a 3442 Ha sanctuary, as well as several trailblazing breeding programmes. The Pumbze Reserve provides opportunities for visitors of the public to enjoy an abundance of wildlife, landscapes and plant species, and to have access to wildlife-, history- and environmental programmes they would never have had otherwise.

THE PEMBI
SANCTUARY
The Pembi Sanctuary area of 3442 Ha is an active conservation breeding program involved with research and breeding of endangered animals; specialized conservation education, treatment, rehabilitation and eventually re-introduction of wild animals (all under the umbrella of the greater Pembi Conservancy).
It is envisaged that world renowned Drs’ John O’ Brian and Johan Joubert will manage a highly specialized veterinary clinic within the sanctuary. Their focus will be to stabilize injured and ill animals and then reintroduce them back into the wild.
PEMBI PUMBZE RESERVE
The total conservancy area is fully fenced to protect it from human encroachment, trespassing and poaching of both fauna and flora. 47 independent areas or blocks have been identified for placing under custodianship of individual custodians or investors. Whilst each area is a stand alone on a separate duat, it still forms part of the greater Pembi and will indefinitely be part of the wider conservation effort. Traversing has been cleverly done to allow for 120km of roads without encroaching on private areas – giving access to diversity, whilst protecting privacy.
